The Clearwater Marine Aquarium $50 million expansion project includes a Dolphin and Coral Reef exhibits. The expansion project was to create larger habitats for dolphins and more space to take on injured marine life. The dolphin exhibit includes five interconnected pools: four main pools in addition to one medical pool. Three of the dolphin pools will feature above and underwater viewing while the other two will provide only above water viewing. The total volume of the five pools is approximately 1.9 million gallons of saltwater. The Coral Reef exhibit is approximately 61,000 gallons and features underwater viewing.
